This policy explains how Stodl Ltd (trading as STODL IT, "we", "us") collects and uses personal data when you visit stodl.com or get in touch with us. We are the data controller for this information and we handle it in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
- Enquiries: your name, email, phone number and message when you use our contact form.
- Checklist downloads: your name and email when you download our cybersecurity checklist.
- Cyber Essentials Benchmark: your name, work email, company name, company size and your answers to the assessment.
- Website usage: if you accept analytics cookies, anonymous usage data such as pages visited, device and approximate location.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and provide the services you ask about.
- To send you the checklist or your benchmark results.
- To follow up once about how we could help, where relevant.
- To understand how the website is used and improve it.
We never sell your data, and we don't add you to marketing lists without asking.
Our legal basis
We rely on legitimate interests to respond to enquiries and requests you make, and on your consent for analytics and marketing cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who we share it with
We use trusted providers to run the website, and they only process data on our behalf:
- Website hosting and secure data storage.
- Email delivery services, to send notifications and your results.
- Google Analytics, only if you accept analytics cookies.
Some providers may store data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards are in place.
Cookies
Essential cookies keep the site working. Analytics and marketing cookies are only set if you accept them in our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie icon at the bottom of the page.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry, download and benchmark data for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a client, in which case we keep it for the length of our relationship and as required by law.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your data, object to how we use it, or ask for a copy. Email hello@stodl.com and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
