What to do while you wait
An outage at Slack, Google or Microsoft isn't something you can fix, but there are sensible steps that keep your team working.
- Confirm it's the provider, not your network. If only one person is affected, it's usually local: browser, VPN, or device.
- Tell your team once, in a channel that still works. A single clear message stops a wave of duplicate emails and calls.
- Switch to your fallback. Phone, SMS, or a second messaging tool - make sure you plan ahead and agree what that is before you need it.
- Don't change settings mid-outage. Resetting passwords or re-configuring accounts during an incident usually makes recovery slower.
If outages keep catching you out, our IT support includes monitoring and proactive comms so your team hears from us first.
